Melvyn spotted this stalk-eyed fly that could not keep still. Getting the eye along with any other part of the body in focus was tough.

Cute hoverfly blocking the path.

Tephritidae fruit fly (Bactrocera?).

Tiny fly next to an even tinier wasp.

These Polyrhachis ants seemed to like staying very still with their abdomens tucked under in the morning.

Small wasp or ant alate? Can't really tell.

Hemipteran with wings bent downwards at the back.

Derbidae, I think.

Pond skater with prey, not sure what, can't quite see.

Brown tiger beetle (2 white spots). There was also a brown four white spotted tiger beetle and possibly Therates dimidiatus (couldn't get a closer look as it was too flighty) or similar looking tiger beetle as well.

Not sure what beetles these are (top Chrysomelidae, bottom Mordellidae?).

Pretty caterpillar.

Common faun.

Orthetrum chrysis?

The rest showed me this katydid nymph with some red mites on it.

These spiders seem to be in mating season, at least 2 mating pairs were spotted. This unfortunate pair was spooked by my approach.

The wolf spiders were also in season, with most of the females carrying egg cases or their young.

Leucauge spider. Can see the characteristic trichobothria or leg hairs on the 4th femur.

Female Thorelliola ensifera spotted by Victor.
