110703 Amorphoscelis mantis

Found this female Amorphoscelis struggling in the men's toilet at basement 2 of Plaza Singapura. No idea how it ended up so lost there. Decided to release it on my mango tree as I had previously found a similar mantis there.

This individual eats ants. It catches ants first with its mouth, by biting down on them, then uses a foreleg to grip the ant while the head repositions for a better feeding grip.
