110702 Seringat Kias

An anemone hunt again with Dr Daphne. This man-made beach has many anemones that needed sorting out.

Sixteen-armed Peachia anemones. There is also a 20 arm Peachia which we did not manage to find.

Specimen B. Dr Daphne is very careful to label each photo to match each specimen she examines, so that she can eventually "put a face to the name", so to speak.

Another Peachia gets buried by the incoming waves.

Specimen D. Looks like bob the blob (Paracondylactis sinensis).

Actinodendron. There were 2 on this beach. Dr Daphne pointed out that they prefer clean sand, whereas the sand at this particular stretch was blackish and dirty, which was odd.

Ria's amazing Cassidae find. It's shell was about 8 cm long.

Ria's post where she covers more on the anemones we found.
