Tiny shiny blue beetle, about 3 mm long. Jewel beetle (Buprestidae)?

Rather unusually shaped Argiope, about 10 mm long, a juvenile? When disturbed, it raised its abdomen as seen in the photo.

Liana spotted this orb weaver (Araneidae) with stabilimenta incorporated in its web. Cyclosa sp.? About 7 mm long and it's web center was about a foot off the ground.

She also spotted this very interesting looking Orthoptera nymph with exceptionally long feelers.

At the base of a tree was webbing that looked very much like those made by webspinners (Embiidina) and on the webbing were at least 4 of these tiny thread-legged bugs (Emesinae, Empicoris sp.?). Perhaps there is some sort of relationship?

Compared to a human thumbnail.

Fooling around with backswimmers (Notonectidae). They can fly well which probably explains how they turn up in large rainwater puddles and even swimming pools. They are apparently also able to give a rather painful bite to careless handlers.

Issid planthopper (Issidae) nymph with fuzz on its body.

At first I thought it had died to fungi until it raised its tail of wax.

Large bug about 30 mm long.

Thanks for sharing. The Empicoris is really interesting. Did you notice how its feelers are like front limbs matching so well with the rest in pattern and length, while the actual front pair of limbs are held in position mimicking a praying mantis. Fascinating!
Yes indeed!
