091021 Changi - Anemones on seagrass.

Highly stressed Stichodactyla haddoni that was flipped upside down. No idea how it happened.

Dofleinia.

Tiny anemone.

Even tinier anemone attached to a seagrass leaf.

About 3mm tall. Super tiny anemone? Sea jelly in polypoid stage? I have no idea.

Peacock anemones.

Zoanthids carpet extensive areas.

How the zoanthids look when submerged.

Pink warty sea cucumber (Cercodemas anceps).

Thorny sea cucumber (Colochirus quadrangularis).

One of the thorny sea cucumbers had some very tiny snails (around 1-2mm long) on it.

Curled up Holothuria scabra.

Luidia hardwicki. It looked pretty stressed and felt very stiff.

It recovered pretty well when put back in the water and became quite active.

The tube feet.

A fisherman showed us some fairly large biscuit stars (Goniodiscaster scaber), around 15cm across.

The madreporite.

A cake star (Anthenea aspera).

Bivalve pedicellariae of the cake star.

Astropecten sp..

Brittle star.

Stepped into some murky water and when I lifted my foot, I saw this mantis shrimp had somehow stranded itself on it.

A larger mantis shrimp. Seemed quite content in this posture and rejected any attempts to flip it upright.

Tiny porcelain crab.

Cowrie.

Octopus.

This unfortunate catfish was still struggling to breathe.
