091106 Semakau

Yet another pretty good trip.

Semakau has pretty interesting coral.

Weird possibly coral. I must remember to get a wide shot of the whole boulder next time.

Weird anemones. They were very common on this shore.

I have a fondness for corallimorphs, they look fascinating.

Almost transparent Cerianthid. They were pretty common too.

Meilin spotted this giant clam. Undoubtedly the find of the day.

Its pretty siphon.

Very long ribbon worm (Baseodiscus delineatus).

Bristleworm. Quite a few of them were up and about.

Brown striped flatworm (Pseudobiceros gratus).

Lined chromodoris nudibranch (Chromodoris lineolata).

A pair of Polka-dot nudibranch (Jorunna funebris) engaging in the world's favorite pastime.

White-rumped sea cucumber (Actinopyga lecanora).

Durian sea cucumber (Stichopus horrens) spotted by Alicia.

Pretty shrimp with eggs.

Mosaic crab spotted by Meilin.

Tiny crab.

Well camouflaged hairy crab.

Dog faced water snake spotted by Ria. It had almost consumed the fish by the time I got to it.

Yet another snake spotted by Ria, a yellow-lipped sea krait (Laticauda colubrina).

A squid that gamely posed for many photos.

Toadfish. The others spotted a few more.

Three Copperband butterflyfishes (Chelmon rostratus) were stranded in a pool...

...along with this tiny filefish.
