Terumbu Raya - Nemos are everywhere

The first thing people should know about Terumbu Raya is that it is a good place for careless visitors to get stung by blue-spotted fantail rays. Two were spotted in the first 10 minutes, a good indication not to wade out into deeper water.

It was a very short trip so I didn't have much time to look around.

Smallest squid I've seen. This cute little fellow is about 1.5cm long.

Orange-spotted gymnodoris nudibranch (Gymnodoris rubropapulosa).

Possibly a Platydoris nudibranch (Platydoris scabra). As we were already pressed for time, I didn't dare linger too long to wait for the water to clear and for it to strike a more photogenic pose.

Chay Hoon spotted this sand covered jellied blob which is actually an Upsidedown jellyfish (Cassiopea sp). Again, just time for a quick snap before moving on.

A small sliver of color betrays an otherwise well camouflaged activity.

It seems that cones inhabit the waters off Terumbu Raya too. Well no surprise since it's quite close to Hantu, the cone cemetery.

A clownfish peeping through its cover of bubble tips.

A swath of bubble tips, quite a common encounter here.

There is a nemo hiding in this magnificent anemone, can you spot it?

Yet more bubble tips.

Some Haddoni can be found further inland.

Fire anemones (Actinodendron sp), the team spotted 2 today.

Wow, that's a lot of slugs you saw!

And glad you saw the Tomato anemonefishes in the Bubble tip anemones.

Yeah, our trip was too short.
