Tanah Merah - making babies

I was actively looking out for seahorses this time, poking though every clump of seaweed. Sadly I didn't see any. Plenty of hot action in the sand though, with three sightings of copulating creatures in a row to start it off.

This orange lump turned out to be a pair of moonsnails.

Not 3 feet away, a pair of mating swimming crabs. The crab on top seems to be gesticulating to me to get lost.

Another few steps onward led to this pair of horseshoe crabs doing it in the sand.

On to the other creatures :

I saw 2 of these beautiful spotted hermit crabs.

A small and grumpy looking crab. No idea what type it is.

Baby rabbitfish.

This halfbeak was in full panic mode constantly beaching itself even after we tried repeatedly to rescue it. Did our presence cause it's behavior?

A very elusive filefish. It looks like a feathery filefish.

Fish fry. Quite a few of the nooks were full of them.

Thirsty fanworms sucking up whatever they can.

Luckier fanworms feeding comfortably. There were a lot of fanworms today, I saw at least 15.

Zoanthids.

A few frilly anemones as well. I saw a tiny one on my first trip here which I didn't manage to get a photo of. Looks like they are gaining a foothold on this shore.

A geographic sea hare. I saw 2, as well as their egg masses.

As usual the Zoned horn snails (Batillaria zonalis) covered the sand. The Dubious nerites were also present but I think in lesser numbers than before.

Pretty polluted waters today.
